LP's DJ set list and updates.

Finally after playing with Corpusse for over 15 years I acquired this precious cassette from early 90's. Containing within, the 1st Pretty Flowers release, and the dark funky "Hot Black Jazz". Anyone that has seen or heard Corpusse knows the man is capable of blowing minds and there really is no limit to his creative output. This treasure is a rare document of Canada's most worthy and unique talent. I am so super proud to have been a partner to this legend since 1997 when he asked me to perform at Club 360 on Queen.

The discography of Corpusse is quite lengthy, but remains largely untapped in the vast land of samey dude bands and alterna-rock, or even experimental/noise...etc.

There are many obscure and impossible to find recordings out there, like the Skull Harvest LP which was released in an edition of 5. They all sold right away for 150+ each. Then there is the beautifully crafted "Honey & Locusts" from 2011. A CDr released on Hi-Hat in Toronto by Spookey Ruben. Probably my favorite of the bunch, for the outstanding production and heights of vocal terror. Maybe one day it will be on vinyl.

I am getting ready to move to 2227 Dundas W. I am right at the section where Roncesvalles meets Dundas.
I will open early in August if I can, but there is a lot of work to do. So the grand opening looks like Sept 1st. I will post if anything changes.

Plenty of work. I am keeping the patch of ancient wall paper and the cool "Electra-Furs" sign. I am happy to move to this new location. Everyone that shops here knows how difficult it has been dealing with constant floods and keeping things dry etc. This new location will help realize all of the ideas I had originally for LP's LPs...

The new place will function as a studio & gallery, as originally intended for the shop, before flooding squashed that dream. But as M says: "When the going gets tough, the tough make lemonade". I am going to make so much fucking lemonade from this experience.

The piece to the left is a small clay sculpture I made in 2009.

Here is something to write about. My grandfather Raoul on drums. I never met him. I wish I knew the name of his band and if they released a 12". They played on steam ships!

Rockin' Raoul.

In this grand tradition, I carry R's name into CORPUSSE, and more recently, PROCESSOR. We've yet to play a steam ship, but we have played in antique shops and sandwich shops. Where R's band may have celebrated tradition, Processor & Corpusse celebrate chaos and electronic spirits. The death of the ocean and mass extinction may be nothing to celebrate over, but the acquiring of a humpback whale-song cassette while touring the east led to this new recording : Sea Side by PROCESSOR. This new track will appear on the Nite Comfort compilation. This is an un-mastered raw version of the song.

Processor play Nocturne July 25, 9pm
Queen & Bathurst.

Also at Nite Comfort. Handle Bar on Augusta in Kensington Market August 3rd 10pm.

Then it's Quebec City on August 13 at Bar Coop L'Agitee.

LP's LPs Update July 2014

The new location will be at Dundas W & Roncesvalles. Last day at this location will be July 27.

In the Meantime, things continue to flow through the shop, mainly flat black things.

The new store will continue to make vintage electronic, experimental, indie, post punk... etc the main focus, but to bring in plenty of new vinyl also.

Here are some recent shots of the current location at 104 Ossington ave.

Keeping cool with Electrohome & ET

Style.

The 8-track tape player that showed up at my doorstep all forlorn. It's tape indicator lights had been dormant for so long.

Add Lou reed & Neil Young 8-Tracks.

Down time.

No more will I deal with the basement flooding.

Motley Crue wouldn't put up with it.

Everything is above ground in the future.

Just as I finished building new shelves down there, and ordered 10 boxes of new stock, the place flooded with rain. Nothing damaged, and the place remains dry after the clean-ups, but the last time was the deciding time.

Knowledge.

Aliens.

Radiation.

Lee Aaron Project.

Before Shania Twain, Feist, or even The Canadian Romantic, we had Lee Aaron.

Picture disc is warped, but that part remains concealed behind the black cardboard. It's a picture disc, you can still look at it.

This rare glam-synth artifact.

Trek with Quintronic - Landing has just been reissued. This is the original.

Smersh.

Blood Ceremony.

Ronald Koal & The Trillionaires.

Severed Heads.

All these vintage early eighties Rough trade 45's need homes.

Next to Lee Aaron is more metal & punk.

Beneath the metal and punk is one of my personal faves. Cristina will make you weep and dance. A Ze records original, she gets a wee mention in the new "Rip It Up And Start Again" book on post punk by Simon Reynolds. Electro - disco -punk with searing bitter sweet lyrics. Hard to find these LPs.

Severed Heads reissues are arriving soon, but I always have copies of originals in stock, DAF is another favorite around here.

Great new stuff from Telephone Explosion, Pretty Pretty, Paper + Sound, Deth, Suction, Robot Elephant, Citytrax... alongside vintages from Mute, Factory, Fast Product, 4AD, Nettwerk ...

The Cosmic Disco section is kept fat too, thanks to some new arrivals from Germany and beyond.

Watch for details on the goodbye Oz party and grand re-opening at the new location. Looking at September 1st but doors may be open sooner.

NB house house

Artist Retreat Project by Lorenz Peter

During the Processor spring tour I came across this property, a small farm house on a 2 acre piece of land on a forested road, across from a park. I decided to take a chance and buy the property. A repossessed house, the owner passed away and the bank sold it cheap. For two years the place sat gathering flies and dust. I arrived in May with little more than a swiss army knife and a shop vac. I set to work, cleaning and transforming the place, pealing away wall paper and vinyl floor, rescuing old furniture, etc.

This old shed sits on the cusp of a small ravine that separates the backyard portion of my land into the forested area of the property.

Some cool furniture I brought in. This is the best place to sit quietly for hours and concentrate on writing & drawing. The lighting is awesome.

Here is an old cabinet I dragged up from the basement, scraped it, bleached it... etc. Now it serves as a work table/buffet table/tool holder etc.

After stripping away the cheap vinyl floor with my red swiss army knife, I painted the wood with glossy enamels & varnish. Trim and revealed wood walls shall transform this "modernized" space back into an inspiring place.
The plan is not to add anything more to the house but to take away all unnecessary cosmetics that steal the charm of the elegant old house.
Sunset as seen across the schoolyard from my front door.
This bird patiently waited for my auto focus to finally focus and shoot. Right outside my back door one hot afternoon.

Here is the kitchen and stairs leading up into the four room 2nd floor. The cabinets were removed to free up space, and also provide great panels to paint on, also to later build a compost.

Upstairs is even more terrible (frosted pastel) modern wall paper, easily stripped away, revealing old wood paneling and a sign that a larger window once occupied that space.

What is this? 1930's magazines glued to the wall behind the wall behind the other wall? That's where I go next. Wherever I can I plan to expose the glorious wood hidden behind drywall, flimsy room partitions, etc.

Here is one of the first paintings produced on the kitchen panels. I made 4 of these one morning, using enamel paint and ink on cabinet doors.
 Another one.

Followed by this frog song inspired ink on paper. During my stay here I drew another 8 pages for my next graphic novel. I plan to turn this place into a sort of retreat for artists & writers. The space is rather raw at the moment but does have hot water, electricity, heating, wood furnace, kitchenette... There are only mats to sleep on and furniture is minimal, but the option to rent is there. I want to cater to artists rather than tourists, so any interested patrons should send an artists resume and plan. I should have this place fully rent-able by next spring, but the rate will be much cheaper now. Any interested people should contact me for details and prices.

Because i didn't intend this blog posting to act so much as an ad, but more as a "what's up with LP's" blog post, I won't include all the details and where- abouts. However, I'll say it's close to Moncton, Kouchibouguac National park, and accessible by VIA rail 3x a week.

LPs LPS summer update 2014

LPs LPs is moving!!

Brand new location at 2227 Dundas W & Roncesvalles. Very close to the subway. This new spot has tall ceilings, a nice front entrance and I just signed on for 3 years. Watch for the grand opening in August or Sept. Also, LPs at 104 Ossington will remain open until the end of July, plenty of new stock.
